What is HERD?
 

The HERD Community Network, Inc. gets its name from the acronym formed by the towns within its service area: Hermon, Edwards, Russell and DeKalb. Formed in 1996, we serve as an on-line promoter for our towns.

Our history ...
Additions and changes
 
We have just been made aware of a website for the De Kalb Town Historian.  It has been added to our menu.  Also, HERD has provided web space for several years for the St. Lawrence County ARES and St. Lawrence County RACES.  These are both amateur radio related services.  These sites have recently been moved from the HERD server to the Oswegatchie Valley Amateur Radio Club website.

Is your club or organization having an event within the HERD area?  If so, you can get it listed here at no charge.  Simply complete the upcoming events notification form.

Comedian Scott Dunn is coming to the Edwards Opera House on Saturday, May 15, 2010.  Details on this show are posted at the Edwards Arts Council website.

 

The Edwards Opera House will be featuring comedian Dan St. Paul on Saturday, September 18, 2010.  Details on this show are available at the Edwards Arts Council website.

Regularly Scheduled Events
 

Story hour for all ages ... every Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:00 at the Edwards Hepburn Library.  Games, crafts, stories ... the public is welcome to attend.

For more information on the Hermon Town Board, call the town offices at 315-347-3606. The Edwards Town Board meets the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 7 PM at the town hall.  For more information, call the Town Clerk at 315-562-3400 or e-mail the town hall. The Edwards Village Board meets the third Monday of each month, starting at 7 PM at the town hall.  For more information, call the Village Clerk at 315-562-3704 or e-mail the town hall. The Russell Town Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 7 PM at the town offices.  For more information, call the Town Clerk at 315-347-2358. For more information on the DeKalb Town Board, call the Clerk's Office at 315-347-3331.
